Dustin Furlow's style of guitar-playing and vocal technique have evolved steadily throughout the past 2 years on the Hampton Roads music scene but his own songs carry a rhythmic yet "held-loosely" feel. Elements of fingerstyle virtuoso Andy McKee can be heard in his music and well as the lyrical hooks and text-painting of Dave Matthews.
His song "Let Go" earned him a call-back from 3 of the America's Got Talent Judges in November 2011
"Summer Song" also earned him a spot at the SeaLevel Emerging Artist competition at the Attucks Theatre in May 2013.
During the Summer of 2013 he performed solo at the Norva twice before and after the release of his "Wood and Steel" demo as well as at the "Embrace the Culture" Festival in Towne Pointe Park.
Dustin's TV appearances include Wavy Tv's "Hampton Roads Show" as well as WCTV's "Thinking Out Loud" Show.
Dustin's radio guest appearances include sessions on the "Hunter at Sunrise" show hosted by Hunter Hughes as well as "Acoustic Highway" hosted by Barry Graham.
I know the harp guitar's future is in good hands when I hear Matt play and write with the sensitivity and passion that he has. He's got terrific chops on a regular six string too! Stephen Bennett
"Music is a way of expressing our emotions when words fail" Matt Thomas explains, "bound by no language barrier, music is a universal sense/expression of freedom."
