For more than four decades now, Robin & Linda Williams have made it their mission to perform the music that they love, “a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism.” Today some might call it “Americana,” but these two revered music masters were living and breathing this elixir 20 years before that label was turned into a genre label for record companies, media, festivals and venues.

Developed at the beginning of the “singer songwriter” craze in the 1970’s, Robin and Linda’s unique style of music is steeped in the traditional music of the Appalachian mountains, the Mississippi Delta, British Isles, Louisiana and Quebec.

As live performers they are second to none; they engage audiences with their powerful singing, their gift for capturing moments of universal life in their songs, and a rare personal appeal. But it’s their superb songwriting that earned an even rarer honor: the devotion and deep respect of their musical peers. The list of artists who have covered their original songs include some of the greats of country music, names like, Tom T. Hall, George Hamilton IV, Tim & Mollie O’Brien, Kathy Mattea and The Seldom Scene.

“...music that is both comfortable and thoughtful… they don’t play at being Country – they ARE Country.

Incredible talent - playing every venue there is - from NORVA to smallest of local cafes - the emerging acoustic talent in the region. Veer Magazine, March 2014

Dustin Furlow is a self-taught guitarist/vocalist whose influences span many genres of music. Elements of finger-style guitar virtuoso Andy McKee can be heard in his music as well as the lyrical hooks and text-painting of today’s contemporary songwriters.

Co-headlining with Jackson LeBeau & Co., Dustin Furlow closed the night in celebration of the release of his new EP, “Wood and Steel”. With the smooth vocal sound of Dave Matthews or Jack Johnson, Dustin’s fingerpicking style of guitar stands out in a world of flat-picked chords. His articulate, jangling guitar playing contrasts beautifully with his honeyed voice. BJ Griffin played a traditional cello with Dustin, adding his voice as well. Backed with light drums, keyboards, and an upright bass, Dustin’s music is folky yet elegant. His EP should be available soon through his page. The night ended with all of the bands joining Dustin on stage, performing a spirited version of The Beatles’ “Come Together.” Resound Magazine, 7/13/14

Dustin’s LP, Wood & Steel is available on iTunes.
